Roots - a poetry zine from The Wee Sparrow Poetry Press
Roots - a poetry zine is out today and features two of my poems
My Three Roots and Growing Instructions
My Three Roots
by Mirjam Mahler
my three countries:
body, heart, words
German, Spanish, English
uprooted and replanted
sometimes happily thriving
sometimes miserably shrivelling
constant unbearable inquiries
place of birth
does not define
I’m from everywhere
I’m from nowhere
I’m just someone
pick and choose
buffet style menu
rituals, traditions, recipes
invent a country
combine the best
multi layered sandwich
body is German
heart is Spanish
words are English.
Roots - a poetry zine is curated and edited by Romina Ramos @rominawrites. You can read the zine online for free here or at theweesparrowpoetrypress.com
